Although beaten, Jason Pettaway has gained plenty of experience over 20 fights and a 10 year long career so far. He now moves on to see just how far he can go as he approaches the later stage of his career. He started his best winning streak on May 2005 however, this came to an end on January 2012. In this period he won a total of 11 fights.
Starting as he means to go on, Pettaway got off to an explosive start in his debut, defeating Dane Waller in 1 rounds and becoming the only person to have stopped Waller to date. Following his debut, Pettaway had an impressive start to his career as he went on to win his next 10 fights including once in 2005, didn't fight in 2006 and 9 times between 2007 and 2011 fighting the likes of as Roberto White, Jason Pauley and Julius Jackson.
Pettaway then went on to fight and beat Dione Craig on July 30th, 2011 maintaining his unbeaten record. The 4 round fight ended in the 1st round via TKO crowning Pettaway as only the 2nd to stop Craig. Taking his record to 11 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, Pettaway then went on to win a further 2 fights.
The first defeat of Pettaway's career came against Magomed Abdusalamov on March 17th, 2012. Pettaway's fight against Magomed Abdusalamov was Pettaway's first stoppage defeat and also, the first defeat of his career. This came via TKO in the 4th round of a 10 round fight. Pettaway's win streak of 11 rose to 14 following 3 great wins, becoming the 16th person to defeat Terrance Smith, 12th person to defeat Grover Young and 24th person to beat Joseph Rabotte.
On April 19th, 2014, Pettaway went into action again and beat Jon Hill taking the winning record to 15 wins. Pettaway was the 2nd person to go the distance with Hill. Pettaway fought Jon Hill in 2014, the result was via UD. Pettaway took on another 2 opponents next, racking up wins against Justin Novaria and Brandon Winner.
Pettaway went into his next fight against Joseph Parker on March 5th, 2015 with a career record of 17-2-0. Pettaway failed to go into the later rounds with Parker, with Parker stopping him in the 4th round and becoming the 2nd person to stop Pettaway.
Taking another knock in his career, Pettaway fought Oscar Rivas on June 26th, 2015 and was defeated by Rivas. Pettaway struggled from the off with Rivas, suffering his 3rd stoppage defeat out of 20 career fights. The latest loss on Pettaway's journey came via KO in round 1.
