Ambriz lost to Pier olivier Cote in his next fight. Taking place on May 7th, 2011, Ambriz's career record after this fight stood at 15-2-1. Cote proved to be the biggest challenge to date for Ambriz, Ambriz never really got going in the fight and Cote handed Ambriz his first stoppage defeat in the 4th round of a 8 rounder.
Ambriz kept his losses at 2 by beating Juan Santiago on June 25th, 2011. Santiago was a great challenge for Ambriz, losing over the full 6 round distance and crowning Ambriz as the 8th person to have defeated Santiago.
On February 17th, 2012, Ambriz took on and was defeated by Thomas Dulorme meaning his career tally went to 16-3-1 Left wondering where Ambriz's career will go next, Dulorme became only the 2nd man to stop Ambriz in the 1st round of a 10 round fight.
