Getting rid of his debut fight nerves early, Hawk took on Miguel Munoz in May 2004 and claimed a stoppage victory (round 1, TKO). Hawk was the first person to have ever stopped Munoz. Continuing on from his debut, Hawk had an impressive start to his career as he went on to fight 14 fights including 2 times in 2004, 8 times in 2005 and 4 times through 2006 and 2007 against fighters such as Shane Fisher, Doug Kaluza and Joe Evans.

Furthering his career, Hawk fought Joshua Green on October 25th, 2008 and continued his career to a record of 17-0-1. The win came via KO. On November 10th, 2012, Hawk took on and was defeated by Nathan Cleverly meaning his career tally went to 23-3-1 Opponent Cleverly fought a great fight in Hawk's most recent bout, one that Hawk had no answers for. Cleverly became the first person to stop Hawk in an upsetting 8th round TKO defeat for Hawk.
