Early Career

Getting rid of his debut fight nerves early, Stretz took on Fritz Plarre in February 1948 and claimed a stoppage victory (round 4, KO). Stretz was the first person to have ever stopped Plarre. Following on from his debut, Stretz continued his mostly successful career by fighting in a further 45 fights. In this time he fought Jose Ferrer, Ramon Martinez and Rudi Pepper to name just a few, fighting 19 times in 1948, 10 times in 1949 and 16 times through 1950 and 1951 in this period.

Ken Stribling was next in line for Stretz where unfortunately, he was defeated on June 4th, 1950 taking his record to 28-1-5. On June 4th, 1950, Stretz took on and was defeated over the distance by Ken Stribling in his first career defeat. Stretz lost via PTS in a valiant effort. Stretz fought boxers including Karl Balkowitsch and Carl Symanski and he went on to win another 2 fights.

Stretz lost to Peter Mueller in his next fight. Taking place on September 10th, 1950, Stretz's career record after this fight stood at 30-2-5. Taking a huge blow to Stretz's confidence, Mueller proved to be too much and stopped Stretz early, becoming the first person to defeat Stretz via stoppage.

Pushing his career further, Stretz fought Julian Humanes on September 22nd, 1951 adding to his winning record. Humanes was a worthy challenger but Stretz was too much and became the first person to stop Humanes via KO during round 7. Stretz's win streak of 35 rose to 64 following 29 wins against boxers such as Johnny Sullivan, Leo Starosch, Alex Buxton and 26 others.

Hans Stretz Vs Franco Festucci

Franco Festucci was Stretz's next fight on August 4th, 1955 and also the next win in his career via TKO. This took his record to 65-8-9 showing a mainly successful career to date. Festucci proved to be no match for Stretz, and Stretz became the first person to stop Festucci via TKO during round 3. 5 wins followed where Stretz went on to fight Wim Snoek, Willi Hoepner and Alex Buxton amongst others, prolonging his win streak.

Hans Stretz Vs Randolph Turpin

Stretz kept his losses at 9 by beating Randolph Turpin on September 21st, 1956. Stretz's PTS win against Randolph Turpin came via judges decision of a 10 round fight. Stretz became the 7th person to defeat Turpin and secured a great win.

Latest Fight

In Stretz's most recent fight, Dogomar Martinez was handed a beating by Stretz on November 6th, 1956 to ensure his win record increased further again to 71 wins. Stretz took Martinez the distance and became only the 2nd person to defeat Martinez. Made the decision not to fight again and end his career on a high after 89 pro fights.
