Pontillas was a push too far for Nakamura and after a tough fight Pontillas became the first person to beat and stop Nakamura in round 1. Nakamura's win streak of 12 rose to 16 following 4 great wins, becoming the first to stop Budi Risky, 2nd person to stop Raymond Sermona and 2nd person to stop Eakkhunphol Mor krungthepthonburi (Round 5 KO).
Keeping his losses at 1, Nakamura fought on October 14th, 2013 beating Fahsai Sakkreerin via KO. This took his record to 17-1-0 showing quite the successful career to date. The 10 round fight ended in the 1st round via KO crowning Nakamura as only the 3rd to stop Sakkreerin in his career.

On July 30th, 2014, Nakamura took on and was defeated by Masayuki Ito meaning his career tally went to 18-2-0 This latest challenge for Nakamura proved to be too much for him, taking a UD loss to the better technical fighter over the 8 rounds and leaving Nakamura wondering which direction his career will head next.
