Although beaten, Francisco Contreras has gained plenty of experience over 29 fights and a 7 year long career so far. He now moves on to see just how far he can go as he approaches the later stage of his career. He started his best winning streak on February 2007 however, this came to an end on March 2011. An explosive pro debut saw Contreras face Francisco Melendez in a 4 round debut fight. Francisco became only the 12th person to stop Melendez shy of the full distance, stopping him in the 1st. Contreras continued on his journey to success by fighting 5 times in 2007, 3 times in 2008 and 7 times through 2009 and 2010 beating fighters such as Jose herley Zuniga montano, Marteze Logan and Juan Castaneda jr in his next 15 fights.
On July 2nd, 2010 Contreras fought and beat Eric Cruz (7-3-3) to continue his unbeaten streak. In 2010 Contreras fought his next opponent Eric Cruz and defeated him via UD. Contreras was the 5th person to go the distance with Cruz. Another win followed for Contreras taking his win tally to 16 wins.
On October 7th, 2011, Contreras took on and was defeated by Sharif Bogere in his first career defeat meaning his career tally went to 16-1-0. Bogere was a push too far for Contreras and after a tough fight Bogere became the first person to beat and stop Contreras in round 3.
On February 18th, 2012, Contreras took on and was defeated by Pablo cesar Cano meaning his career tally went to 16-2-0. Contreras's fight against Pablo cesar Cano was Contreras's 2nd stoppage defeat which came via RTD in the 6th round of the fight. Contreras continued his success in the next 6 fights taking his record to 21 wins, 3 losses and 0 draws.
Taking another knock in his career, Jorge Linares was next in line for Contreras with Linares coming out victorious. Contreras career was at 21-4-0 following the fight. Contreras failed to go into the later rounds with Linares, with Linares stopping him in the 1st round and becoming the 3rd person to stop Contreras. Contreras then went on to fight 15th person to stop Ambiorix Ciriaco and fought Andrey Klimov in his next 2 ensuring his record was 22-5-0
Pushing his career further, Contreras fought Aneudy Mesa on July 19th, 2014 adding to his winning record. The win against Mesa happened in the 1st round of a 6 round fight via KO.
Francisco Contreras added another win to his record by beating Alexis Santana on September 27th, 2014, upping his record to 24 wins. Alexis Santana was little match for Contreras, as Contreras became only the 14th person to defeat Santana in his most recent fight. The fight went the distance via UD decision.
