On June 14th, 2013, Petit took on and was defeated by Yvan Mendy meaning his career tally went to 12-1-1 In a courageous battle, Mendy's skill was too great over the 10 rounds for Petit as he got handed his first pro defeat. With plenty of options still available to Petit, it's unlikely this is the last we'll see of him.
