Starting his career in March 2006 at the age of 20, orthodox boxer Mauricio javier Munoz has now been pro for 9 years and has built up a career of 28-6-0. Munoz went into his next fight against Jose Saez on September 20th, 2008 with a career record of 15 wins. Munoz's technical boxing ability was put to the test as he got outpointed in the 10 round fight against the better man. Saez gave Munoz his first professional loss of his 16 fight career to date. Munoz then went on to win a further 7 fights taking his record to 21 wins, 2 losses and 0 draw.
Toshiaki Nishioka was next in line for Munoz where unfortunately, he was defeated on April 8th, 2011 taking his record to 21-3-0. Munoz faced the first stoppage of his career against Toshiaki Nishioka in the 9th round of a 12 round fight via KO. 2 wins followed taking Munoz's winning streak to 23 wins.
Munoz went into his next career fight with a record of 23-3-0 and took this to 24 wins with a win against Claudio rosendo Tapia on January 28th, 2012. The 6 round fight ended in the 6th round via TKO crowning Munoz as only the 3rd to stop Tapia. 5 wins followed where Munoz went on to fight Ramon Contreras, Luis Franco and Nelson daniel Monte amongst others, prolonging his win streak.
Munoz went into his next fight against Stephen Smith on May 21st, 2014 with a career record of 28-5-0. Munoz fought Stephen Smith and was defeated via RTD in the 12 round bout. This was Munoz's 2nd stoppage defeat in his career which came in the 8th round.
On February 19th, 2016, Munoz took on and was defeated by Luis ernesto Rueda meaning his career tally went to 28-6-0 Munoz fought and was defeated by Luis ernesto Rueda. Munoz was the 6th person to go the distance with this opponent resulting in the eventual loss of the fight.
