Early Career

In December 2004 Berto faced Michael Robinson in his debut bout over 4 rounds, but only 3 were needed as Berto became the quickest person ever to stop Robinson via a 3 round TKO victory. Continuing on from his successful debut, Berto continued his winning streak by winning his next 19 fights. In this time he fought and beat Miguel Figueroa, Roberto Valenzuela and Cosme Rivera to name just a few, fighting once in 2004, 8 times in 2005 and 10 times through 2006 and 2007.

Becoming the first person to stop Michel Trabant, Berto beat Trabant via RTD in the 6th round of a 10 round fight. 6 wins followed where Berto went on to be the first to stop Miguel angel Rodriguez, first to stop Freddy Hernandez and 3rd person to stop Carlos Quintana (Round 8 TKO).

The win came via TKO in the 12th round of a 12 round bout. Berto continued his success in the next 4 fights taking his record to 31 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws.
