Born March 23rd 1992, orthodox fighter Marlon Tapales started his career in July 2008 at the age of 16 and has now been pro for 8 years, fighting a total of 33 times. Unfortunately, the first defeat of Tapales's career came against Brix Ray on May 30th, 2009 in Tapales's 9th professional fight. Tapales faced the first defeat of his career against Brix Ray in the 6th round of a 10 round fight via RTD. 11 wins followed where Tapales went on to be the first to stop Randy Petalcorin, First to beat Jerson Mancio and 5th person to go the distance with Martin Mubiru.
On November 17th, 2011, Tapales was in action again with a win via TKO against Rex Olisa taking his mostly successful record to 20-1-0. Tapales was the first person to stop Rex Olisa and he did it in the 3rd round via TKO. Tapales then went on to win a further 8 fights taking his record to 27 wins, 2 losses and 0 draw.
Shohei Omori was Tapales's next fight on December 16th, 2015 and also the next win in his career via TKO. This took his record to 28-2-0 showing a mainly successful career to date. Omori proved to be no match for Tapales, and Tapales became the first person to stop Omori via TKO during round 2.
Marlon Tapales added another win to his record by beating Shohei Omori on April 23rd, 2017, upping his record to 29 wins. Ending via TKO, Tapales became the 2nd fighter to stop Omori. The defeat came in the 11th round of a 12 round fight.
