The first defeat of Kuga's career came against Nobuhiro Hisano on June 18th, 2012. This took his career record to 4-1-0. Kuga's technical boxing ability was put to the test as he got outpointed in the 4 round fight against the better man. Hisano gave Kuga his first professional loss of his 5 fight career to date. 4 wins followed where Kuga went on to fight Takumi Takahashi, Taishi Torimoto and Yusuke Suzuki amongst others, prolonging his win streak.
Pushing his career further, Kuga fought Yuki Iwasaki on February 28th, 2014 adding to his winning record. Kuga's fight against Yuki Iwasaki came in the 5th round of a 8 round fight via TKO. Kuga became the first person to stop Iwasaki. Another win followed for Kuga taking his win tally to 9 wins.
Yasutaka Ishimoto was next in line for Kuga where unfortunately, he was defeated on December 21st, 2015 taking his record to 9-2-1. A valiant but fruitless effort for Kuga. Kuga fell just short and was defeated by Ishimoto over the full 10 round distance.
Yusaku Kuga went into his fight with Yasutaka Ishimoto on February 4th, 2017 with 9 wins and he added another win to his record taking it to 10 wins by beating Ishimoto. Kuga beat Yasutaka Ishimoto in the 2nd round of a 10 round fight via TKO. Kuga was the 2nd fighter to stop Ishimoto.
