Early Career

In his first fight in September 2005, Thompson defeated Geraint Harvey in a 4 round fight. The fight went the full distance and secured Thompson his first win and distance win to kick of his pro career. Following on from his debut, Thompson continued his mostly successful career by fighting in a further 16 fights. In this time he fought Simon Fleck, Maurycy Gojko and Lee Noble to name just a few, fighting 3 times in 2005, 6 times in 2006 and 7 times through 2007 and 2008 in this period.

On July 6th, 2007, Thompson took on and was defeated by Vincent Vuma in his first career defeat meaning his career tally went to 11-1-0. On September 25th, 2009, Thompson went into action again and beat Gary Abajyan taking the winning record to 21 wins. Becoming the first person to stop Gary Abajyan, Thompson beat Abajyan via TKO in the 5th round of a 6 round fight. Fights against Martin Welsh, Danny Parkinson and Kevin Mcintyre followed where he won all 3 fights taking his winning streak to 24 wins.

Taking a knock to his career, Thompson fought and was defeated by Jack Culcay on September 29th, 2012 taking his record to 24-2-0. Thompson was stopped by Jack Culcay in the 5th round of a 12 round fight via TKO. It was Thompson's 2nd stoppage defeat in his career. Thompson's record of 25-3-0 following 1 win against first opponent in 8 fights to stop Dale Evans.

Thompson went into his next fight against Liam Smith on December 7th, 2013 with a career record of 25-4-0. Thompson was beaten by Liam Smith in the 4th round. Thompson had only ever been stopped 3 times previously in his career. Thompson then went on to win again against Max Maxwell setting him up well for his next pro fight.

Thompson kept his losses at 4 by beating William Warburton on June 20th, 2015. Thompson secured the win over Warburton after the final bell via PTS, resulting in Thompson being the 69th person to defeat Warburton.

Latest Fight

Thompson's next defeat of his career came against Bradley Skeete on September 26th, 2015. Out for his 32nd career fight, Thompson was once again outmatched where he suffered a 3rd round TKO loss in only his 4th stoppage defeat to date. Another blow for the talented Thompson.
