Alvarez's win streak of 4 rose to 10 following 6 great wins, becoming the 17th person to stop Marcelo antonio Gomez (Round 4 TKO), 2nd person to stop Lee Dawson sr. and 14th person to defeat Juan Aguirre.
Next was Jakmani Hurtado on May 17th, 2017 where Alvarez took the win continuing his unbeaten streak. Becoming the 5th fighter to stop Hurtado, Alvarez beat Hurtado via TKO in the 8th round of a 10 round fight.
Armando Alvarez retained his unbeaten record in his most recent fight by beating Jonathan ariel Riquelme ramirez on May 28th, 2017, increasing his record to 12 wins. Alvarez's win against Riquelme ramirez was only the 10th time Riquelme ramirez had been stopped. The fight finished in the 3rd round of a 12 round fight via TKO.
